EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Angela Lee Gieras
Angela Lee Gieras joined STC this season, leading alongside Artistic Director Simon Godwin as they continue to grow the artistic profile of the company nationally and internationally.
Prior to joining STC, Angela served as executive director at Kansas City Repertory Theatre for more than a decade. Through her consulting practice, Inspired Arts Management, Ms. Gieras originated a program called Partner JumpStart that support co-CEOs in theatres nationwide. She has a track record of increasing fundraising income, growing audiences, and building organizations up through strong leadership. She has consulted or worked with many regional theatres including American Conservatory Theatre, Arena Stage, Dallas Theater Center, the Guthrie, Portland Center Stage, and Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company. She is past Treasurer and board member of Theatre Communications Group and is a past board member and co-chair of the nominating committee of League of Resident Theatres.
Ms. Gieras is a fierce advocate of female leadership, mentoring and sponsoring people of color and women who aspire to leadership positions. She earned an MBA and MA from Southern Methodist University, and a BS in finance from University of Florida. She is a Certified Fundraising Executive and Associate Certified Coach and has trained with the Kansas Leadership Center and the Harvard Business School Strategic Perspectives in Non-profit Management. She is married to a mortgage banker, John Gieras, and they have a daughter who is in her second year at the University of St Andrews.
